Base nutrients provide everything your plants need to grow and flower successfully. They provide 14 of the 17 essential macro, micro and trace elements that research has shown is required for a plant to complete its life cycle. Carbon (C), Hydrogen (H) and Oxygen (O) are provided from air and water.

The elements provided by the base nutrients are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) which make up the macronutrients.

The microelements are calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and sulphur (S), with the remaining trace elements package of boron (B), chlorine (Cl), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn, molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni) and zinc (Zn) available in minor quantities.

The transformation your plants undertake when they change from vegetative to generative (flowering) growth is the most dramatic and demanding process your plants will go through. Giving them the best chance of success is pivotal to getting the highest yields, the best quality and the most potent aroma’s genetically possible.

A specific ratio of phosphorus and potassium at this early stage indicates your plants are entering a generative phase. This ‘indication’ is acted upon by various hormones within the plant to slow down vegetative growth and increase the flowering hormone, florigen(1).*

During the flowering period, having the most efficient light capture system is fundamental to getting the highest yields. The efficiency of your plant can be determined by how green the leaves are. For some, the final phase of a plants flowering cycle is the most critical part of their plant’s lifecycle. The last week, often called ‘flush’, is when your plant uses the last of its energy to pack on the final weight and push colours, aromas and oil production.
